HC Deb 21 February 1955 vol 537 c109W
87. Mrs. Jeger

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance how much money has been spent, to the last convenient date, in meeting rent increases under the Housing Repairs and Rents Act, 1954, payable on behalf of persons in receipt of national assistance.

Mr. Peake

The National Assistance Board informs me that it regrets the information asked for is not available, but that up to 25th January about 8,600 assistance allowances had been increased, by an average of 3s. 2d. a week, on account of the rent increases referred to.
