HC Deb 09 February 1955 vol 536 cc216-7W
77. Mr. A. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will make a statement on the proposed Western Union Common Arms Agency.

Mr. Turton

A number of proposals are being studied by the Working Group of Western European Union which is now meeting in Paris. We are anxious that the United Kingdom should play its full part both in these discussions and in any arrangements which may result from them. The United Kingdom representative on the Working Group has put forward suggestions for improving cooperation within Western European Union in the field of armaments production and standardisation.
