82. Mr. W. T. Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is now able to make a statement on the recruitment of co-operative officers in the Federation of Malaya.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The Co-operative Department is now up to strength except for 11 audit clerks. It has so far proved impossible to find qualified candidates for these posts but efforts to fill them continue.
