asked the Minister of Agriculture how far it is his practice in the campaign to eradicate fowl pest to consult regularly with the auctioneers and poultry dealers to ensure that diseased birds are not sold in the open market.

Mr. Amory

The sale in markets of ailing or unfit poultry is prohibited, and all markets at which poultry is sold must be licensed by the local authority and the shares in the steel companies for which public offers of sales have been made;

(2) how many applications to purchase were accepted for each of the steel companies whose shares have been offered for sale to the public by the Iron and Steel Realisation and Holding Agency.
