asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies (1) what information, not previously available, came to hand between the time at which a re-entry permit to Kenya was issued to Mr. J. Singh and the time when it was decided to forbid him to re-enter the country;

(2) how far the ban on re-entering Kenya placed on Mr. Singh also covers his wife.

Certain information regarding Mr. Jaswant Singh's association with the Mau Mau movement came into the hands of the immigration authorities after the re-entry permit had been issued. His readmission was consequently deemed to be against the public interest. The ban does not apply to his wife.
