§ 60. Mr. Warbeyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what specific proposals he made to Mr. Molotov at Geneva for joint action by the Tripartite Powers and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to promote a peaceful settlement of the political and economic problems of the Middle East.
§ Mr. NuttingAs my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary told the House on 7th December, he took the occasion at Geneva to draw Mr. Molotov's attention to the dangerous consequences of large arms deliveries by the Soviet Union and her allies to Middle Eastern countries. I regret to say, however, that the Soviet attitude then and since has been both negative and unhelpful.
