asked the Minister of Defence whether he will arrange for Christmas mail for all troops in Malaya and Hong Kong to be sent out by air at specially cheap rates.

Her Majesty's Forces in Malaya and Hong Kong, in common with all other Service men overseas, enjoy considerable concessions in the air mail rates for letters, postcards, printed papers, and small packets. In addition, there is the further concession, which I announced in the House on 9th November, for all men sent to Malaya after 4th November, whereby each may receive one 3 lb. parcel for Christmas by air, post free.
