§ 21. Mr. Osborne
asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the dead weight and value of the pigs upon which deficiency payments were made between 123W 28th June, 1954, and 25th November, 1955, of £75,800,000; and how much, approximately, this represents per lb. dead weight.
The deficiency payments were made in respect of pigs weighing 94.9 million score lb. deadweight, and equal 9½d. per lb. deadweight. The market value of the pigs was approximately £167 million.
