§ 58. Mr. Beswickasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why a police officer invalided out of the force because of injuries sustained in the course of duty, and who is awarded an injuries pension which includes an element from the Industrial Injuries Insurance Fund, is not permitted under his regulations to receive the benefit of any increase in that element made to meet the increased cost of living.
§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeThe police pensions scheme guarantees for police officers disabled on duty a minimum weekly income in respect of their injury, whether this is payable from police funds or the National Insurance schemes or, as normally, a combination of both.
