§ Sir W. MoncktonSince 30th November, 1954, fifty-three wages boards and councils have submitted to me sixty proposals for increases in statutory minimum remuneration. I am sending the hon. Member a list of the wages boards and councils concerned. The number of employees affected is estimated at between 2 and 2½ millions. Six of the wages councils on the list have submitted proposals to me for wages increases since 26th October, 1955, but these proposals were formulated and published before that date.
