HC Deb 05 April 1955 vol 539 cc88-9W
Mr. J. R. H. Hutchison

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what increase has taken place in dental treatment for expectant and nursing mothers, children and those under 21 years of age, since the middle of 1952;

(2) the number of courses provided under the general dental service for expectant and nursing mothers, children and those under 21 years of age, in 1954; and the proportion which this formed of the total number of courses provided under the general dental service.

Mr. J. Stuart

In the 12 months to June, 1952, it is estimated that expectant and nursing mothers, children, and those under 21 years of age, received 198,000 courses of treatment, of 17 per cent. of the total provided under the general dental service. In the 12 months to December, 1954, the number of such courses was about 650,000 or 57 per cent. of the total.
