asked the Minister of Labour the composition and qualifications of the members of the Licensed Residential Establishments Wages Board; and whether he will give details of the changes in the composition of the independent members since 1946.

Mr. Watkinson

The Licensed Residential Establishment and Licensed Restaurant Wages Board consists of 24 persons who represent employers engaged in the trade and 24 who represent workers, together with three independent members of whom one is chairman and another deputy chairman; all three are persons of wide experience who also hold a number of appointments as independent members of wages councils.

Since 1946 there have been two changes in the chairmanship and two in the deputy chairmanship.
