§ 84. Mr. Fernyhoughasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will introduce legislation to make it possible for tenants who find, arising from the operation of the Housing Repairs and Rents Act, 1954, that they have been paying above the legal rent, to claim reimbursement for all such rent paid in excess of the amount laid down by Statute.
§ Mr. SandysTenants are entitled to claim reimbursement of all rent paid in excess of the legally authorised rent provided that they make their claim within two years. There is no evidence that the operation of the Housing Repairs and Rents Act has shown that this particular provision needs to be changed.
