asked Her Majesty's Government what steps have been taken to bring into operation the Wild Birds Protection Act; when it is expected that the Act will be in full operation, and, in particular, whether the statutory advisory committee has been appointed, and, if so, what are the names of the members.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (LORD MANCROFT)

Section 16 (4) of the Protection of Birds Act, 1954, provides for the whole of the Act to come into force on 1st December. The advisory committee for England and Wales will be appointed, and the names of the members announced, in a few days, and the committee for Scotland very soon.
