HC Deb 24 November 1954 vol 533 c152W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will give consideration to an early return to a national grading scheme for horticultural produce in view of the experiences of the Fruit Growers' Association in Kent regarding apples and pears.

Mr. Amory

National grades for apples and pears have been recommended by my Department, and many growers and associations of growers, including the Fruit Growers' Association of Kent, have adopted grades based upon them. I shall be very glad to encourage a further extension of the use of these grades in any way open to me.
