HC Deb 15 November 1954 vol 533 c3W
61. Mr. Horobin

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the cost of training a guide-dog for blind persons which falls in part on public funds is, under present arrangements, about £180; and whether he will consider making alternative arrangements.

Mr. Iain Macleod

This is a service undertaken by a voluntary association, towards the cost of which local authorities responsible for the welfare of the blind have power to contribute at their discretion. I do not think that any action by me is called for.
