asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what grant has been made for the assistance of those who have suffered in the recent floods in South-West Scotland.

None. While I sympathise with the people who have suffered from these floods, I have no evidence to suggest that special Government help is called for. I am writing to the hon. Member.
