82. Mr. Jay

asked the Minister of Defence what will be the additional annual liability falling on the United Kingdom budget on account of defence commitments in Germany as a result of the recent Nine-Power Agreement in London.

86. Mr. Swingler

asked the Minister of Defence when he will commence negotiations concerning the future costs of stationing troops in Germany, as proposed in the London Agreement; and if he will give an estimate of these costs when fully borne by the United Kingdom Government before Parliament is asked to ratify the Agreement.

I am not at present able to add anything to the information given in my statement on 27th October and in the White Paper on the Documents agreed on by the Conference of Ministers held in Paris 20th–23rd October, 1954 (Cmd. 9304).
