§ 92. Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many people have been displaced under the Lagos Slum Clearance Scheme; where they are now being housed; what is the estimated cost of the scheme; and when 50W it is hoped to complete the rebuilding of the area.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe answer to the first part of the Question is "None," and the second part does not therefore arise. I am informed that no decision on the scheme has yet been taken by the Council of Ministers who are still studying it. The estimated cost of the slum clearance and ancillary schemes as at present formulated is £2,750,000. It is expected to take six years to complete from the date it is started.
