HC Deb 02 November 1954 vol 532 cc30-1W
63. Mr. Osborne

asked the Minister of Labour what arrangements are being made for the Jamaicans who are arriving in this country in large numbers to complete the two years' National Service.

Mr. Watkinson

None of these men can become liable for National Service until he has been resident in this country for two years, and then only if he is still under 26 years of age. There are standing arrangements for calling up British immigrants as they become liable.
