60. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what further investigations have been made at the fuel research stations in respect of devices for the catching or removal of soot emitted through domestic chimneys; and whether these have led to any recommendations that can be implemented in respect of new or old houses.

Mr. Marples

Several devices have been examined, but none has so far been considered practicable.
