§ Mr. Edeasked the Minister of Agriculture if he will give for each of the years 1951, 1952 and 1953, the names of those commons in respect of which application was made to his Department under Section 194 of the Law of Property Act, 1925, to make an enclosure, specifying in each case whether a public inquiry has been held; the area of land sought to be enclosed; the purpose for which it was proposed to enclose the land; the area thrown into the common in lieu of the land enclosed; the result of the application; and the reason, in any case, where consent has been given without an area being thrown into the common an area at least equal to the land, for not requiring that course to be followed.
§ Sir T. DugdaleI am sending the right hon. Gentleman the particulars asked for under the first six heads of his Question. With regard to the last head, Section 194 of the Law of Property Act, 1925, does not require land to be given in lieu of common land affected by the construction of a work to which my consent is given.
