HC Deb 07 May 1954 vol 527 c43W
Mr. Llewellyn

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware of the lack of wholesale facilities for meat in South Wales, in general, and in Cardiff, in particular; and what steps he is taking to ensure adequate supplies of meat in Cardiff when rationing ends.

Major Lloyd George

No. The wholesale meat trade in South Wales has available to it the same facilities as before the war. So far as the second part of the Question is concerned, I am quite sure that, in their own interests, the trade can be relied upon to take such steps as are necessary to ensure adequate supplies of meat in Cardiff, as elsewhere.
