90. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department for an assurance that in all cases where young persons or juveniles under 17 years of age are charged, steps are taken to notify the parents before the cases are heard.

The law provides that the parent or guardian is to be summoned to attend the hearing in every case, subject to reasonable exceptions at the discretion of the court.
