§ Mr. Patrick Maitlandasked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether, as an emergency measure, he will install enough telephones or telephone call 87W boxes to ensure that no resident in East Kilbride need be more than a few hundred yards away from the means to summon a fire brigade.

§ Mr. GammansThere are no applications outstanding from doctors. Three ministers of religion are waiting for service, and we hope to connect two of them by the middle of the year. I regret that owing to shortage of line plant I cannot say when we shall be able to connect up the third.
