HC Deb 16 June 1954 vol 528 c141W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Food if he will take steps to get the co-operation of the butchers in the slaughtering arrangements when meat is decontrolled in July, as many butchers have not yet applied for slaughtering licences.

Major Lloyd George

The information which I am receiving from local authorities and from the organisations representing meat traders shows that in general butchers are seeking licences for such of the pre-war slaughterhouses as are still available.
