HC Deb 15 June 1954 vol 528 c137W
72. Mr. Mikardo

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what arrangements he is making to obtain and pay compensation to the parents of Private J. Vaux, who was murdered at Ismailia on 30th May.

Mr. Nutting

As my right hon. and learned Friend informed the House on 2nd June, claims for compensation from the Egyptian Government for British soldiers murdered in the Canal Zone are bound up with the wider question of claims and counter claims between Her Majesty's Government and the Egyptian Government. The case of Private J. Vaux will, of course, be dealt with in accordance with these procedures.
