HC Deb 03 June 1954 vol 528 c118W
Mr. Patrick Maitland

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of applications which he has received from the East Kilbride Development Corporation for permits to build shops and stores; the number which have been refused; and the longest delay that has yet occurred in granting such permission.

Mr. J. Stuart

I have received five proposals for the erection of groups of shops totalling 25 in all from the East Kilbride Development Corporation; all of them were approved, and the longest delay that occurred in granting approval was three months. The Development Corporation have not made any application to me for permission to build stores.
