HC Deb 03 June 1954 vol 528 c102W
Mr. Arbuthnot

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will now undertake that any concession on the duty-free entry of machinery will be made retrospective, in view of the declaration of Her Majesty's Government that it will be some time before a decision can be reached on this matter, which is causing a hold up in the importation of machinery needed for manufacture for the export trade.

Mr. Amory

I regret I am unable to give the undertaking for which my hon. Friend asks.
