HC Deb 02 June 1954 vol 528 cc77-8W
63. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies to what extent the plans of the rural and industrial development authority in Malaya are being fulfilled.

Mr. Lyttelton

The authority has made steady progress since its creation in 1950. Within the limits imposed by finance and a shortage of skilled staff, it has provided valuable assistance in the development of small enterprises. The hon. Member may care to examine its half-yearly reports, which are in the Library of the House.
