§ Sir A. Bossomasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give consideration to the removal of the duty on light petroleum oils used for weed-killing purposes.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerNo. As I explained in my reply on 29th June to my hon. Friend the Member for Altrincham and Sale (Mr. Erroll) with a very few exceptions, of a special nature, the duty on light hydrocarbon oils is charged regardless of the use to which the oils are put and I am not prepared to extend the list of exceptions.
