I am informed by my right hon. Friend that in Scotland there are about 25 private slaughterhouses registered and in use and 91 public slaughterhouses. There are also 75W a number of small slaughtering points in the Highlands and Islands. I should like to take this opportunity to thank local authorities for the energetic way in which they have tackled these problems.
