Mr. AmoryAbout half our imports from Canada and the United States are free from import restrictions. No restrictions on imports of which Canada is an important supplier have been removed since my right hon. Friend returned from Canada. It is our intention to relax existing restrictions as and when our balance of payments situation allows. Since the hon. Member asked a similar Question on 27th May, we have, among other measures, made arrangements for imports by private traders of North American cheese, and canned salmon which benefit Canadian suppliers.
