§ Mr. LytteltonA new Department has been set up to take charge of existing land settlement schemes and to plan40W new ones in accordance with Mr. Brown's recommendations. His Report on the Economic Production of Sugar Cane by Individual Farmers has been discussed locally with the sugar producers, who are in the best position to take action on it, and Bookers Sugar Estates, Limited, are launching a pilot scheme under the direction of an agriculturist from the Sudan Gezira Scheme.
