HC Deb 09 July 1954 vol 529 cc196-7W
Mr. Patrick Maitland

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether he is aware of public complaints at East Kilbride about the lack of facilities for buying postage stamps and despatching parcels; the number of places within the whole designated area of the new town where these facilities now exist, and the number of such places where he intends to provide such facilities during the present year.

Mr. Gammans

No. Postage stamps can be bought at the sub-office and at two shops in the town, and parcels can be posted at the sub-office. It is proposed to open an additional sub-office if and when a suitable candidate can be found.
