asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies to what extent, other than by leaflets, Mau Mau members are offered future freedom if they voluntarily surrender to the authorities.

Mr. Lyttelton

They are not offered freedom if they voluntarily surrender. The only offer made is that they will not be executed for carrying arms or consorting with armed terrorists. The offer has been published by all means available including broadcasting and loudspeaker vans.
