83. Mr. Slaterasked the Assistant Postmaster-General to give the number of telephone applications outstanding in the Sedgefield, Darlington, and Stockton rural areas; and how many of these applications are from farmers.
§ Mr. GammansDuring the last 12 months, 80 subscribers have been connected up in Sedgefield, 87 in Darlington and 320 in Stockton; but 99, 78 and 221 applications are still outstanding, nearly a third of which are in course of provision. Of the total outstanding applications, 54 are from farmers, of whom 22 should be joined up within a month or two.
