HC Deb 15 February 1954 vol 523 cc180-1W
39. Mr. Elwyn Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will instruct the United Kingdom representative at the United Nations Legal Committee at its next review of the work of the International Law Commission to support the adoption of a code of offences against the peace and security of mankind, which the Law Commission is to restudy in May this year.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

Progress in this matter depends on the results of the work of the International Law Commission, which is to meet again in May. We hope that the results will be such as to enable further progress to be made by the Legal Committee of the United Nations General Assembly when it meets in the autumn.
