§ Mr. Grimondasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will invite the Phillips Committee on the aged to make a general survey of superannuation and insurance schemes in the public service and private industry.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe terms of reference of the Committee on the Economic and Financial Problems of the Provision for Old Age are widely drawn and do not preclude consideration of superannuation and insurance schemes in the public service and private industry if the Committee so desire. However, I do not think it would be proper for me to direct the attention of the Committee to specific points of this kind.
