HC Deb 03 February 1954 vol 523 cc50-1W
105. Mr. Woodburn

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether his attention has been called to the difficulties arising from the disused portions of the canals in Scotland; and whether he has any plans for their future.

Mr. J. Stuart

I have made inquiries with regard to a particular part of the Union Canal which lies in the right hon. Member's constituency and am informed that in the opinion of the County Medical Officer of Health there is no indication of a nuisance under the Public Health (Scotland) Act.
