Mr. Fenner Brockwayasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps he is taking to encourage the creation of a project, such as exists in Norway and Sweden, whereby contributions by private citizens or organisations to the Technical Assistance Programme or other relief programmes of the United Nations Agencies are doubled out of Government funds.

§ 70. Mr. Brockwayasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the estimated net gain to United Kingdom balances of payments from the Technical Assistance Programme of the United Nations.
§ Mr. TurtonNone. From the inception of this Programme in 1950 up to 30th June, 1954, £1,889,082 were spent in the United Kingdom, compared with United Kingdom contributions totalling £2,035,000 for the same period.
