HC Deb 21 December 1954 vol 535 c247W
1. Brigadier Clarke

asked the Minister of Labour if he will investigate the wages paid by Remploy with a view to bringing them more into line with local industry.

Mr. Watkinson

As I think that my hon. and gallant Friend knows, the rates of wages of Remploy workers are fixed as the result of negotiations between Remploy Limited and the trade unions concerned and there have been three wage adjustments since 1951. It would not be proper to interfere with the normal processes of negotiation.
