HC Deb 21 December 1954 vol 535 c254W
65. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Secretary of State for War what arrangements exist to ensure that in all barrack rooms and other military premises at least one non-commissioned officer is always available or within immediate call to maintain discipline and to prevent or quell disorder.

Mr. F. Maclean

A non-commissioned officer is put in charge of each barrack room and lives in the barrack room or near it.
