Macphersonasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is yet able to give an indication of the progress of the negotiations at Geneva for the revision of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, and, in particular, if agreement has been reached concerning the request for permission to take special measures to forward the development of production in Colonial Territories, which are vitally dependent on the United Kingdom as their customer; and whether Her Majesty's Government is seeking permission to take immediate action when necessary without previous consultation with the other contracting parties to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
