asked the Minister of Health how many hearing aids have been distributed since the inception of the Health Service.

At the end of October last, 401,524 patients had been provided with Medresco aids in England and Wales.

Mr. Turner

asked the Minister of Health the total expenditure since the inception of the Health Service on hearing aids, including the servicing of such aids, and batteries.

Excluding the cost of minor repairs and distribution which are not separately ascertainable, the cost of electric and non-electric aids up to 31st March last, was about £4 million for the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man.
