HC Deb 15 December 1954 vol 535 c154W
104. Mr. P. Williams

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what meteorological records referring to the Boldon Airport site his Department has kept; and whether he is aware of the unsuitability of the weather there in the winter months.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

No meteorological records have been kept for the Boldon Airport site, but some records are available for the R.A.F. airfield at Usworth, which is only a mile away. I have no reason to believe that the weather there is any worse than at existing airports in industrial areas.

105. Mr. P. Williams

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he will make a statement on the future of the proposed international airport site at Boldon in County Durham.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I have no present plans for the development of Boldon.
