§ Lieut.-Colonel Bromley-Davenportasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will provide a list of those organisations which have made use, 107W during the past 12 months, of their exemption from the payment of Entertainments Duty by the Customs and Excise authorities under those sections of the Finance Acts which lay down that where the entertainment is not conducted foe profit and is provided by an organisation whose aims are partly educational, no tax shall be charged; and whether he will also give an estimate of the amount which would have been paid by way of Entertainments Duty by these organisations during such a period if they had been liable to the same duty as for living entertainments.
§ Mr. H. BrookeI am afraid that the preparation and publication of the list asked for in the first part of the Question would involve disproportionate work and cost. In regard to the second part, I108W cannot at present give an estimate, but I will see what can be done and will write to my hon. and gallant Friend.
