§ Miss Hornsby-SmithAlthough my right hon. Friend shares the hon. Member's concern that this waiting list should be reduced, he cannot accept that an emergency exists. In fact, emergency cases are admitted immediately, and urgent waiting cases within two or three weeks. Steps have, however, been taken to increase facilities in the Birmingham area for the treatment of these cases at several other hospitals.
