§ 81. Lieut-Commander Baldockasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is aware of the campaign conducted by the Mayor of Hackney for increased retirement pensions, including the circulation of numbers of forms, the sending of reply paid postcards and correspondence with Members of Parliament and local authorities; and, in view of the use of local authority funds for a purpose which is ultra vires, whether he will order an extraordinary audit to be made.
§ Mr. MarplesMy right hon. Friend is aware of this matter, but he does not think that he would be justified in ordering an extraordinary audit.
