§ Mr. H. StraussMy right hon. Friend has received a memorandum from the Cinematograph Exhibitors' Association on this subject, although it was not submitted at his request. The question of tax relief is, of course, primarily the concern of my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer, who will give consideration in his review of taxation before the next Budget to the proposals in the memorandum. I should add that considerable difficulties, both of general principle and of commercial policy, appear to be raised by these proposals.
